We're pleased to share that CommunityPass has upgraded the infrastructure powering text messaging across the platform, and you'll notice the difference.
What's Improved
- Text messages are now powered by a modern SMS delivery system, significantly improving reliability and ensuring important messages reach your community when it matters most.
- This upgrade replaces older email-to-text technology that carriers were phasing out, giving you a more dependable foundation for real-time communication.
What's Staying the Same
- Alert and Reminder messages will continue to be delivered via both email and text for users who are opted in.
- Messages sent through the Instructor and League modules will continue reaching participants via text as expected.
- Text messaging remains included as part of your subscription.
One Change to Be Aware Of
- To align with current carrier standards and SMS consent requirements, text messages from Message Manager will now be reserved for Alert and Reminder messages only.
- General Communications (often longer, non-time-sensitive messages) will be delivered via email going forward.
- This keeps texts focused on timely, high-priority updates your community needs to act on immediately, while email handles richer, more detailed communications your programs require.
Text Message Opt-In Reminder
If an individual has previously opted out of receiving text messages by replying STOP (or similar) to a text message, they will need to opt back in to resume receiving texts by texting START to (844) 895-5661 from their mobile phone.
No action is needed on your part. The upgrade is live and working in the background.
CommunityPass understands how critical reliable communication is to your team and residents. You can continue using the texting features you rely on, now with stronger performance and greater dependability. As always, if you have questions, reach out to our support team. We're here to help!
