Overview
Group membership settings allow admin users to define the rules for group memberships such as Family, Couple, and Senior Couple. Group Membership settings are available in catalog Activities.
Users will define member types and how many of each member type will be allowed at the group price You may also define pricing for additional members.
Enabling Group Membership
Membership programs are designated as a 'group membership' by checking the Group Membership checkbox. This is a program setting.
For Seasonal Memberships, the Membership Information section contains the Group Membership checkbox.
For Rolling Memberships, the Rolling Membership Attributes section contains the Group Membership checkbox.
Group Membership Configuration
Group membership configuration determines the number of individuals that can be part of a group membership and specifies how many of any defined member types. It defines who and how many,
Group Membership Custom Instructions: You may enter a description of the group membership rules such as "maximum 2 adult members and unlimited children 17 and under". These instructions display during a registration transaction and will help the user to understand who and how many can be included in the group membership.
Age Determination (R)
Select one of the following age criteria:
- Age at Registration
- Age as of Date
*For Rolling memberships, for most cases the age determination should be age at registration, not age as of date.
Max Individuals at Group Price: enter the maximum number of individuals that may be included at the Group Price (which is the program price). If there is no maximum for group price, i.e. unlimited, leave this field blank.
Complete the program creation and click Save.
You will be prompted to define a Member Type. All Group memberships must have at least one member type.
Add Member Type Definition
Member Type: Enter a name or label such as Adult, Child, Teens, Senior. The member type name will display during a registration transaction.
Age Range: Enter minimum and maximum age
Number of Members Allowed: Enter the minimum number and maximum number of members of this member type. If there is no maximum (ex, unlimited), enter a high number such as 50.
Relation: the default setting is Family Member. Other choices are Non Family Member and All.
Individual Type: This is the individual type specified on Family Main. The default setting is All. Other choices are Adult and Child.
Additional Members
Use this section if additional individuals of this Member Type may be added to the Group Membership for an extra fee. Using the fields listed below, indicate how many individuals may be added and the additional price per individual.

Non-Resident Price
Click Save.
Continue entering as many Member Types as needed.
Examples
For member types in which the age overlaps: For example Adult as 18 and older and Child as 0 - 23. In this situation you would select Individual Type 'Adult' for the Adult member type and Individual Type 'Child' for a Child member type.
Registering for a Group membership
During a registration transaction, users will be prompted to select group members after they click Add to Cart. If defined, the Group Membership Custom Instructions will display below the name of the membership program. For each individual in the family account, the system will display which member type they are for this membership program.
